5 for Friday- August 1st

It's that time again to get organized for back to school. Why not be cute and organized at the same time?! We found this adorable way to color code crayons or even just to organized supplies at the students tables or centers. All you need is scrapbook paper, cans or cups, and a board! For full DIY instructions check out snapcreativity.com.

We found this adorable math counting sticks from Math Maniac on Pinterest. These would be perfect for math centers or interventions for students that need more repetition with their numbers! So easy! One trip to the craft store and you have some great math manipulatives!

With all the hustle and bustle of back to school you can't forget your coworkers! This is a cute idea to welcome back your coworkers to a brand new year. A fun colorful notepad, some sharpies, and sticky notes make an ideal gift. What teacher wouldn't want a little something special to start the year off?! The Fourth and Ten Blog also has free labels to tie on top!

Another DIY project to create some cheap yet very handy seats! These crates are transformed into seats for reading areas, centers, and work stations. Not only are they seats, but they can store supplies inside of them as well! Check out Ms. Third Grade's Blog for more directions. We are going to be adding some of these to our reading area!

Are you tired of buying prizes for a treasure box??? Try this new rewards system! Instead of students choosing from a treasure box, the students will choose from 18 different reward cards. The cards have different activities ensuring there is a reward for every student. Some examples include working with no shoes for the day, sitting at the teachers desk, computer or IPAD time, and even as simple as telling a joke to the class. Give these cards a try!! Click on the picture below.

Student Information Freebie!

Is it really time to start going through our back to school files?! YESSSS!  We cannot believe how fast this summer is going.  Here is a file we came across that we will be using this year to gain some extra information about our kiddos at the beginning of the year.  We have our "Meet the Teacher" night before school starts, so we will give it to our parents then, and they will generally send it back in on the first day of school!  Click on the picture below if you could use a FREE copy of this too!  Enjoy your last few weeks of summer!

We just got done printing our new bright chevron Alphabet, 3D shape and number posters (1-20 included).  We are loving everything from Krista Wallden and her Alphabet Pictures were so cute we had to redo our alphabet wall using them!  The posters match our FREE bright chevron behavior clip chart and 2D shape posters!  We also have everything available in our store in a bright polka dot theme.  What is your classroom theme?

We grabbed these little stools at a local outlet store on the cheap!  We have them at our listening center tables, computers and group tables.  The kiddos love sitting in these chairs!  We do spend some time demonstrating how to sit and how NOT to sit before these are open for use:)

Last week we posted a list of FREE apps that we use in our classrooms.  If you didn't get a chance to check it out, you can read our post here.
We recently found out about an app called ScootPad.  Has anyone used this app?  We have heard some amazing things about it from some friends of ours in other school districts and are excited for our kiddos to try it out.  It is a math and reading app for grades K-8 to practice common core skills. You can visit their site here. The basic app is free but there are paid memberships available.  We are getting another set of I-Pads for our classrooms this year and are excited to add this to our choices.

Are you as obsessed as we are with buying new supplies for your classroom... and things to hold your supplies... and reorganizing your supplies?????  Can't stop, won't stop.  It's a problem.
Our little trio has stopped by Target many times in the past few weeks to shop their back to school deals.  Look at those adorable little buckets... literally cannot pass them up!  And clearly we need to buy things to fill them up... new flair pens, sharpies and scented markers (not pictured).  I grabbed that little chevron basket for 2 bucks on clearance during a random stop at Michael's.  Don't know what I'll use it for yet, but I'll figure it out!

Our Christmas in July sale is ending tomorrow so be sure to stop by our store to shop the deals!  Here is a peak at what is on sale today and tomorrow!  Click on the pictures to visit our little store:)

This summer we've been looking for fun new additions to our Daily 5 rotations and found these cute little magnifying glasses at the Dollar Tree!  The black ones were only a buck each and they are ginormous!!  The colored ones were 6 for $1!  Can't beat that! We found them hidden in the party section!  We think our kiddos will love them:)
